Sunday Staples Founder Hit By A Truck In Accident, Documents Her Recovery Journey: “It Ran Over My Legs”

Local entrepreneur Cherriann Wong, who goes by Cherri, shared a heartfelt Instagram reel this week about a serious accident she was involved in.

Cherri, who founded Sunday Staples in 2018, a Singapore-based brand known for its comfortable footwear, is a mum to two young daughters.

Recounting the day of the accident, she shared that she had just sent her daughter to school when she was hit by a truck.

“It ran over both my legs,” she wrote, sharing photos from the accident and clips of her recovery in hospital.

She underwent surgery on her right knee and ankle, which thankfully went well. Sharing clips of her daughters and husband visiting her in hospital, Cherri wrote: “My children are safe and well.”

As part of her recovery journey, she's had to relearn basic movements such as standing, sitting, walking with a hospital walker, and using a wheelchair.

Despite her strength in overcoming each hurdle, Cherri also revealed that they “missed their normalcy”, adding that she had to take a “cocktail of painkillers every day”.

She ended the clip showing her and her daughter smiling at the camera, writing: “But most importantly, I am alive. I have my husband and children. The girls have their mommy. Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah.”

Cherri has since received an outpouring of love and well-wishes from followers, friends and even strangers. Many said they would keep her in their prayers as she heals, while others encouraged her recovery and sent strength during what must be a very difficult time.

Speedy recovery, Cherri!
