Now, this is living proof that learning is life-long.

Earlier last week, comedian Suhaimi Yusof, 52, finally became a university graduate, after having “dropped out of three universities” 30 years prior.

According to Suhaimi, when he first attempted to continue his studies, he realised that he “didn't have the stamina to do it”.

"I chose my career over studies, so my friends continued their studies at NUS first, [while] I didn’t,” he shared.

"Studying… I found out that it’s not easy, it’s something that requires a lot of strong willpower and discipline,” he went on to say in a video he posted on Instagram.

Never say never

But now, some 30 years later, Suhaimi finally achieved his goal, graduating with a first class honours degree in broadcast media production awarded by Teesside University.

The comedian pursued his degree at MDIS University, along with fellow celeb Fauzie Laily, 37, who was awarded the same degree as well.

"Thanks to a long time friend, Mr Fuadi Rahmat , who is also a senior lecturer at [MDIS] for showing me the way. He opened the door, encouraged me and the rest is history,” Suhaimi wrote.

He went on to share that he was inspired to return to school after seeing his daughter, Nurjannah Binte Suhaimi, 25, enrol in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design Art in 2021.

"When my daughter was studying in NTU, I thought wouldn't it be fun to graduate with my daughter in the same year?!? And so we did in 2021,” he wrote. Suhaimi added that his convocation was postponed to this year due to COVID-19 tightened measures.

“If I can do this, anyone can,” he wrote at the end of his post.
