Style Evolution: Paige Chua
From fashion noob to Mediacorp "nu shen", here's a look back at some of Paige Chua's most iconic looks over the years.

Before Paige Chua was widely known as Mediacorp's "nu shen" aka goddess, she was a fashion noob like most of us. As she turns the big 4-0 today (Jun 25), we take a look back at her style evolution — onscreen and offscreen — through the years.

Singapore Motorshow (2006)
Did you know that Paige once donned the classic Motorshow Babe crop top?

2008
Like the Paige of today, the Paige of yesteryear kept it simple: a neat hairstyle, natural makeup, and simple white shirt and pants set were all she needed to look fresh and pretty.

The Dream Catchers (2009)
No hawker babe outfit is complete without a fanny pack and a backward baseball cap.

The Dream Catchers press conference (2009)
Ah the unflattering potato sack dress. Don’t worry Paige, we’ve all been there – Ya Hui included - and worn that.

Star Awards 2009 Show 2
Paige clearly didn’t get the memo that less is more. While we think the shimmery dress is pretty cute, the necklace is total overkill.

The Princess and the Prince (2009)
Paige certainly looked royal in her multi-tiered cocktail dress and tiara comb.

Your Hand in Mine press conference (2009)
Despite how well it blends in with the curtains, we’ve got to love the timelessness of Paige’s linen top-white pants combo.

Channel 8 Countdown Show at VivoCity (2010)
Even though Paige usually chooses more low-key outfits, she looked completely at ease in this boudoir-inspired getup. (Confidence gained from the Motorshows, perhaps?)

Chinese New Year Show (2011)
Chinese New York show outfits tend to be a little flamboyant, and Paige’s gown — and those velvet gloves — were no exception.

Secret Garden (2010)
Paige would look right at home with us when we’re burning the midnight oil in the office.

Star Awards 2011 Show 2
A pompadour, bejeweled fox necklace AND see-through skirt? Did Paige wear this on a dare?

Channel 8 Lunar New Year show (2012)
We’re pretty sure the sight of Paige in this Japanese school uniform costume set many guys’ hearts aflutter.

Star Awards 2012 Show 2
While Paige looks gorgeous, this dress, with its layers of tulle and silver hue, screams wedding gown. Paige even wore her hair in a bridal-like bun to complete the look.

2012
Yikes! The dress’ excessive ruffles and garish colour take all the attention away from Paige’s pretty face.

New Year Countdown Show (2013)
Sorry Paige, this tie dye dress looks more 70s hippie fashion than Coachella chic.

Star Awards 2013 Show 1
2013 must have been Paige’s experimental year. First she decided to attend the Star Awards as MC Hammer…

Star Awards 2013 Show 2
... and then as Elmo.

Drama 30th Anniversary Show (2012)
The cutting and the embellishments... this dress looks like something a tai tai in her 50s would wear.

Star Awards 2014 Show 1
Who needs jewellery and a designer gown when you look this good in Love, Bonito?

Star Awards 2015 Show 2
Paige decided to step out of her comfort zone and opt for a sexy Roberto Cavalli number, which she said was “revealing for my standards”, for the 2015 Star Awards. And the risk paid off. Paige was named Most Stylish star that night.

Festival of wheels (2015)
It’s amazing how Paige managed to look like she’s 34-going-on-14 with her cute pigtails and camo print tank.

PPCTV-Mediacorp Awards (2015)
Paige dazzled in a romantic Alice + Olivia lace gown when she picked up the Most Stylish Artiste award at the PPCTV-Mediacorp Awards.

Star Awards 2016 Part 1
Paige must have gotten loads of compliments for the Vaughn Tan dress she wore to the Mediacorp New Campus Opening so she wore a similar gown to the Star Awards the following year. We like this much better!

Mightiest Mother-in-law press conference (2017)
We’ve never been fans of gingham but the sexy cutouts elevate this dress from cheap (read: table cloth) to chic.

Star Awards 2017
Paige and Alice + Olivia are a match made in heaven. Doesn't she look charming in this dress that looks seemingly lifted from the pages of a storybook?

2017
Head-to-toe floral prints are not the easiest look to pull off, but Paige looks demure in this flowy number from Juicy Couture.

Blessings 2 (2018)
Paige is giving us major In The Mood For Love vibes in her floral cheongsam.

Star Awards 2018
Paige looked sleek and elegant in a gown specially designed by Keith Png. Our eyes are immediately drawn to the sliver of white on the assymetrical neckline.

Blessings 2 (2018)
Though the blunt bangs that she sported on Blessings 2 were clip-ons, we like how quirky Paige looked in them. Perhaps she can consider wearing this look permanently when her fringe grows out.

December 2018
Paige looks like an angel that has fallen from the skies twirling in that ethereal dress.

Star Awards 2019
While her goddess-like white gown with a sheer décolletage looked graceful, we felt it was a tad too bridal-like for our liking.

2020
We love Paige’s black jumpsuit here because of the exaggerated shoulders; the puffy sleeves add more shape and drama to her look. The eye-catching earrings are also plus points for her outfit.

River Hongbao 2020
We can't get over how demure and fresh-faced Paige looks in this pretty jacquard cheongsam.

2021
We're getting Charlie's Angels vibes from this look.

2021
There's something about this pic of Paige dressed in a pleated frock standing amongst a sea of green that looks incredibly dreamy and romantic.

2021
Paige looked a vision in this wedding gown in online series Watch Out Alexius.

River Hongbao 2021
Someone cast Paige in a period drama already.

Chinese New Year countdown show (2021)
Doesn't Paige look breathtaking in this exquisite lace and embroidered cheongsam she wore for a CNY performance?

2021
Stepping away from her usual feminine getups, Paige wowed us with this cool girl look that is chic and edgy.

Star Awards 2021
Clad in a brightly coloured Vaughn Tan gown and Harry Winston gems, Paige stood out in a sea of black at the Star Awards this year. Stunning!
