Stefanie Sun Thanks Her Dad For Being With Her “Every Step Of The Way” And Other Celeb Father’s Day Tributes
Whose son said he loves him more than handphone?

Yesterday (Jun 21) was Father's Day, which meant there were a gazillion of posts dedicated to men who probably don't have Instagram accounts.
Whether or not the intended recipient actually saw the tributes, we had fun going through our local stars' IGs for their Father's Day dedications, with many featuring adorable #throwback pics and rare family photos.

Stefanie Sun
The cutest collection of Father’s Day photos goes to our national treasure, who posted a series of pics of her dad who was there for all of her life's milestones.
“For the man who was with me every step of the way. Happy Father’s Day my dear Papa!” she wrote.

Desmond Tan
Desmond got a chance to flex his cooking skills on Father's Day this year, whipping up some mouth-watering sio bak and prawn noodles for his family.
"The boss of the house is a happy man today! Thumbs up for my home cooked meal and his present! Happy Father's Day, Pa!" he wrote, adding that his dad was "very satisfied".

Gurmit Singh
The 55-year-old funnyman's dad may not be around anymore (he passed away from cancer in 2003), but he will live forever in Gurmit's heart.
"Happy Father’s Day to my late Bapaji (Dad). He taught me kindness to all, even to animals. He taught me compassion. He taught me many things. Too many to list here," he wrote.

Fann Wong
Fann's six-year-old son Zed wrote the cutest message ever to Christopher Lee: "Dear Papa, I love you more than HP [handphone]." Which we think is the greatest declaration of love any kid can give their parents these days.
Of course, Fann did not forget to pay tribute to her dad, who suffered a health scare in February, as well.
"Happy Father’s Day," she penned.

Pan Lingling
To show her love for her husband Huang Shinan, Lingling got up bright and early to bake his "favourite" burnt cheesecake for breakfast. She also mentioned that he woke up right after she was done baking and she didn't manage to chill the cake in the fridge before serving it to him. Doesn't matter though, it still looks pretty!

Ya Hui
Ya Hui posted this retro pic of her with her mum and siblings along with this caption: "My dad is my Instagram boyfriend. All my photos are taken by him, so we don't really have a pic together. The love my brothers and I have for photography must've been passed down from my dad, I guess." Ya Hui also added that it was her dad who taught her how to shoot and frame a pic.

You can always count on the Chens to post a wholesome family pic on special occasions, and this Father’s Day was no different.

Joanne Peh
The 37-year-old actress paid tribute to Qi Yuwu, her hubby of six years and the father of their two elusive kids.
"Even though we’re not in a rush to head out, the emotional shackles have somewhat dissolved with Phase 2. Even the rain fails to dampen our mood as we celebrate Father’s Day, with the man who made it all happen. Happy Father’s Day!" she wrote. Awwww.

Romeo Tan
Waitaminute. Why didn't Romeo's dad get the cute photo edit that the actor did for his mum on Mother's Day? But it's okay 'cos he wrote a longer message to his dad instead: "My father, to me, is a good and honest dad who puts his family first. He is the eldest son of his family. In order to take care of his siblings, he started working and earning money after finishing Primary Six. As he did not have much education, he worked as a taxi driver in order to provide our family with a mode of transport as well as to ensure our safety. He's been a taxi driver for over 40 years. I would like to thank my dad for always being our pillar of strength, and for instilling the correct values in our lives. Dad, I wish you a happy 67th birthday, and of course Happy Father's Day!"

Joel Choo
Ah, our favourite father-son pair has done it again. As if Zhu Houren’s appearance on TikTok wasn’t hilarious enough, here is the veteran actor tickling our funny bone again, this time by attempting to dab. A+ for effort.

Benjamin Kheng
The engaged singer’s father looks like a really chill dad (or perhaps just used to Ben’s antics).

Rebecca Lim
The first time Becks posted a throwback pic of herself sporting this hairstyle was on Mother's Day earlier this year. She went back in time again for Father's Day, writing: “Hero. Love you Daddy.”

Shaun Chen
Besides Father's Day, there's another reason for Shaun to celebrate — it's also he and his wife Celine Chen's fifth wedding anniversary.
"It's such a coincidence to have our fifth wedding anniversary and Father's Day fall on the same day. It's an occasion worth celebrating, and we'll have a good meal. Thank you, my wife. If I have done anything wrong, please forgive me," Shaun captioned. Hmm, what mistake could he have possibly made?

Vernetta Lopez
According to the Gold 905 jock, she owes her sense of humour to her father, whom she called the "coolest, funniest [and most] loving dad".
"Our childhood was always interesting, thanks to his creative collections of grandfather clocks, stone whiskey jars, watches, clocks, and his love for pranks and funny videos, and also his love for nostalgia, beautiful England countryside and keroncong music!" the 46-year-old wrote.

Allan Wu
The 48-year-old hunk decided to thank his dad for showing him "what it takes to be a good father" with a quote by Reed Matkham: “The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams, and aspirations he not only sets for himself, but for his family."
