Stefanie Sun & Family Spotted At Great World, But It Wasn't The Singer That The Fan Recognised First

Singapore pop diva Stefanie Sun, 47, was spotted shopping around Great World with her husband Nadim van der Ros and their two kids earlier this week.

A Xiaohongshu user snapped photos of Stefanie and her family at the mall from a distance and later shared the pics online. 

Stefanie was dressed down in a blue T-shirt and white berms, presumably to avoid attracting attention to herself.

In fact, she appeared so non-descript that the OP first noticed Nadim instead, before realising that he was with Stef and the kids.

Stef’s son, who turns 13 in a month, was nonchalantly walking slightly ahead of the family. Her seven-year-old daughter, on the other hand, was seen staying closely by her side.

At one point, when it appeared as though the young girl was having a tantrum, Stefanie bent down to patiently comfort her.

Netizens expressed envy at this celeb sighting in the comments section. Some wished they were lucky enough to run into who they called “our national treasure” in public too.

“I’m so angry, I go there daily to eat, but I’ve never met her!” one commenter wrote.

Another quipped: “Guess I’ll be making more trips to Great World for groceries now.”

Stef was also praised for appearing down-to-earth, and for the patient and gentle way in which she communicated with her daughter.

While some netizens asked why the OP “did not approach Stefanie for a photo”, others urged him to avoid filming Stefanie or her family in public to respect her privacy. There were also a number who thanked him for “not revealing the faces of her kids”.

Stefanie and Nadim have been married for 14 years. The latter, who has been involved in long-term charity and volunteer work, was recently given the High Commendation Award at the Singapore Red Cross Awards Ceremony in recognition of his contributions. 

Stefanie attended the ceremony in support of Nadim, and he later penned an IG post which included a short, but sweet message to his family. It read: “None of this would be possible without the support of my amazing wife and kids. Behind every volunteer is a family that makes it possible.”
