Squirrel At Bishan MRT Station Triggers Chase By Staff Armed With Box & Coats
Was it just excited for its very first train ride?
We’ve seen mice. We’ve seen monkeys. Birds and cats have also been spotted at MRT stations before.
But for some Circle Line commuters at Bishan MRT Station, the highlight of their Tuesday (Apr 29) afternoon commute was a squirrel on the run.
Or was it trying to catch a train?
In a video posted to Xiaohongshu, the tiny ferret was seen trying to escape, darting past the legs of about five station staff.
Armed with a plastic box and coats, the staff managed to capture the agile squirrel after a few tense and comedic minutes.
Netizens were full of praise for the staff who seemed quite gentle with the creature, while others wondered how it reached the underground train platform.
“Could it be the heavy rain that flushed it all the way down?” asked one netizen.
You know what we think? The squirrel was probably just a train enthusiast excited for its very first trip.
