TikToker Walks Around In White Socks To Test If S'pore, Japan, Or China Had The Cleanest Streets

Singaporeans are mighty proud of our clean and green country. But how many of us will walking down Orchard Road with just white socks to prove that?

TikToker Dylan Page, better known as News Daddy, wanted to find the cleanest streets in "three of the richest countries in Asia". And he decided to test it out in the most unhinged way.

In his now-viral video, Dylan strolled down Orchard Road in just socks for four minutes to see just how dirty his socks would get.

He repeated the experiment at Tokyo’s famously crowded Shibuya Crossing and a tourist area in Guangzhou.

To be honest, the socks that walked through the Orchard Road shopping belt actually looked cleaner than we expected.

Dylan’s post has since garnered more than 4.8 million views.

Netizens were amused by the oddly specific cleanliness test. Some even took it upon themselves to try the experiment in other parts of the world. 

“Don’t come to Africa, bro. I did the test for you,” a netizen commented, along with a photo of a muddy pair of socks.

Others were impressed by the cleanliness of our little red dot. “So Singapore streets are cleaner than my floor,” another quipped.

Not everyone was convinced, though.

One skeptic commented: “I know he switched them out. I just can’t prove it.”

Another pointed out that the comparison might not have been entirely fair, noting that Dylan walked through busy, high-traffic areas in Singapore and Japan, but chose a relatively emptier spot in China.
