Man Spends His SG60 Vouchers On Pokémon Cards Instead Of Body Wash Or Vegetables

By now, most Singaporeans would have gotten their SG60 vouchers and happily flashed their vouchers at the supermarket checkout counter.

But Instagram user @tako_boii had other ideas.

In a video posted on Monday (Jul 28), he dramatically waved off supermarket staples such as vegetables, cooking oil, and body wash to SKAI ISYOURGOD’s ‘Ba Fang Lai Cai’.

Even durians didn’t make the cut.

Instead, he walked straight into a shop displaying a sign that read “CDC vouchers accepted here” and gleefully picked out a few Pokémon card packs.

According to netizen comments, the shop’s name is TTZ One located near Hougang MRT Station.

While some simply laughed at the video, others called @tako_boiii out for showing off.

“Later, the government says we [are] abusing the vouchers and cut it off. Some of us legitimately need it to sustain [our] family,” raged a comment.

Another hilariously called @tako_boii out for giving body wash and miss and wrote, “Never shower?”

Still, it's a fact that SG60 and CDC vouchers are accepted at this shop.

SG60 vouchers are one-off for individuals and are part of the broader SG60 package that Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced at Budget 2025 to recognise the contributions of all Singaporeans, and to share the benefits of the nation’s progress as Singapore marks its diamond jubilee.

In a Facebook post by Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling on July 23, more than 2.08 million Singaporeans aged 21 and above have claimed their vouchers.

Now, we wonder how many people have spent it like a Pokémon master.
