Singapore Ranks Last On Asia’s Top 10 Most Beautiful School Uniforms List… Based On A Photo Of A M’sian Schoolgirl

When making a list to rank countries, it’s crucial that you get your facts right. Or else you might just draw the ire of netizens like this one Xiaohongshu user, who recently shared a list on “Asia’s Top 10 Most Beautiful School Uniforms”. 

The list, in order of first to last, goes: Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Singapore. 

Sure, our school uniforms were ranked at last place, but that’s not where the problem lies. 

Included in the list was a slideshow of girls wearing uniforms from their respective countries. However, many noticed that Singapore’s slide featured a Malaysian schoolgirl. 

“Number 10 is Malaysia’s [uniform], when did it become Singapore’s?” asked one netizen, while another wrote: “Did you get this wrong for engagement?”

Malaysian netizens also noted that the photo for their country was “totally wrong”. 

“It’s not possible for school skirts in Malaysia to be so short,” read one of the kinder comments. 

Many have since accused the original poster of “making a nonsensical list”, while others urged unknowing netizens against trusting the post. 

While students from Singapore schools such as Raffles Girls’ and CHIJ do wear pinafores, their uniforms don’t look anything like the one in the photo.

If clout was what the poster wanted, they certainly got it.
