S'pore Woman Thought Boyfriend Was On A Work Trip, Finds Out He Went To M'sia With 2 Female Colleagues And Shared A Room With Them

What would you do if you found out your other half was being sneaky behind your back?

A woman from Singapore recently took to the Facebook page SGWhispers to share about an appalling discovery she made about her boyfriend of six years.

She wrote: "I found out my boyfriend booked tickets to Malaysia with two female colleagues. And they are sharing a room."

She added that he lied to her that it was a company trip, and she initially did not suspect him as he even asked about her plans while he was away.

She then revealed that he started acting "a bit suspicious", prompting her to check his phone.

"What I found out left me really hurt. He even went to gym with them and ate with them, when he always tell me he's tired but I don't know where this energy came from," she continued.

When she confronted him, "he said he didn’t know how to tell me because he’s scared of my reaction".

"Yea I’m sensitive when he’s close to a female friend but that is because of an incident years ago. But my thinking is why? Can’t he just ask first?" she wrote.

Her boyfriend later explained that the trip was to meet another former colleague. He said they shared a room because the girls wanted a bigger room and insisted that they did not share a bed, adding that he thought it would be a way to “save money by sharing.”

“Is this even normal? He said he’s not attracted to them. The sad part is, I don’t think he would have ever told me if I hadn’t found out,” the woman penned.

While part of her "didn’t want to let him go,” she told him she wanted to end their six-year relationship, but he couldn’t accept her decision.

While the woman didn’t reveal if they ultimately broke up or not, many netizens took her side, encouraging her to stick to her decision.

They brought up the many "red flags" her boyfriend displayed, such as choosing to share the room and not respecting her boundaries, not to mention the intentional lie.

One enraged netizen said: "Whatever he said is pure bulls***. If you respect your partner, you wouldn’t even put yourself in that situation with the opposite sex. Leave him because you’ll find someone who has the balls to say no and draw the line."

Others said she was right to end the relationship, adding that she should be “grateful” they were not married yet. Many felt that his decision to share a room with other women suggested he had “other plans in mind,” and warned that if he was willing to do it once, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t do it again.

A number of netizens also suggested that she reverse the situation and ask how he would feel if she booked a room with two men to “save costs” on a holiday.

Ultimately, many believed there was no turning back, given that her trust had already been shattered, and that she shouldn’t have to put herself through such pain in a healthy relationship.

"A healthy relationship is built on trust. But he doesn't trust you enough to tell the truth. And your trust in him is wavering," penned one commenter, while another simply stated: "He doesn't deserve you!"

What would you do if you were in her shoes?
