Simonboy Starts ‘Forever Megan Charity’ On 38th Birthday In Memory Of His Late Daughter

The 38-year-old, who lost his daughter Megan in 2020, hopes his Forever Megan Charity will help those in need and inspire others to give back.

Local TikTok star Simon Khung, better known as Simonboy, has come a long way.  Once a drug addict and ex-convict, the 38-year-old is now one of Singapore’s most recognisable content creators, and he’s never been shy about sharing his story of redemption.

On Thursday (Nov 6), which also marked his birthday, Simon announced the launch of his charity initiative, the Forever Megan Charity, named in memory of his late daughter.

Simon, who has been married three times, had a daughter, Megan, with his second wife Foo Li Ping. Megan tragically passed away in 2020 at the age of four after more than a year of abuse by Foo and her then-boyfriend Wong Shi Xiang.

In an emotional Instagram reel, Simon reflected on his journey from hardship to hope.

“I’ve been making social media content for four years now. Because of my unwillingness to give up, from [working as] a house mover to being a cleaner and deliveryman, I’ve come to where I am today, step by step.”

Simon also expressed gratitude to those who’ve supported him over the years, saying he’s determined to pay their kindness forward.

“Every kindness should be repaid with a greater one,” he said. “I promise to continue this journey with positive energy, and I also want to share some good news. I’ve just begun my giving-back project, and I feel this is the best way I can show my gratitude to everyone.”

He spent the day at the orphanage as part of his first "giving back project"

For his first initiative under the Forever Megan Charity, Simonboy visited the Good Samaritan Home, an orphanage in Klang, Malaysia.

In a YouTube video documenting the trip, Simon shared that one of his followers had reached out to him in May about organising a sharing session for the children. Upon learning that many of the kids had parents struggling with drug addiction — something he deeply related to — Simon agreed immediately.

Together with his team, Simon purchased daily necessities, food, and household supplies for the orphanage. Upon arrival, he also bought fresh groceries, sweets, and clothing for the children.

While there, he opened up about his life — from his turbulent childhood and battles with drug addiction to his three prison sentences and eventual road to recovery.

Simon spent the day connecting with the children before leaving a donation and returning to Singapore.

Reflecting on the experience, he said: “I really hope these kids will learn how to love and how to give. But for them to learn that, we have to set an example first. That’s why I’m happy to bless them with good food, necessities, and a donation.”

So, what’s next, Simon?
