While most couples who live apart were counting down the days till they could see each other again in Phase 2 of Singapore’s reopening, it looks like actor Shane Pow and 987FM DJ Kimberly Wang are playing it safe ‘cos, believe it or not, they still have not met up yet.

“I think it’s okay lah, we can always video call,” a nonchalant Shane told 8days.sg over the phone on Wednesday (Jun 24). “It is different, but I think we have to be socially responsible. Besides, she still has to work every day and she can’t do it from home. She’s essential. (Laughs)

In fact, the 29-year-old revealed that he has only gone out once since social gatherings and dining in at F&B outlets were finally allowed again on June 19.

“I met my friends for lunch on Sunday but that’s about it,” he said. “Actually, I don’t feel very safe, mainly ‘cos I live with my parents and they’re not exactly young, so it’s my responsibility to stay away from crowds in case, you know, anything happens. I know everyone is excited to go out again but I feel like we should still be cautious and maintain social distancing.”

But… doesn’t he miss his girlfriend? “I hear her on the radio! (Laughs) Sometimes I listen to her show while making breakfast in the morning and it feels like she’s there with me, so it’s not so bad.”
