Rui En Went For Grief Counselling After Her Cat Died In October

The Rui En that 8days.sg interviewed on December 17, was undeniably bright and chipper. The 39-year-old had just attended the virtual press conference for upcoming Mediacorp drama, Mister Flower, where she had shared more about the very intriguing character she plays, the cheerily-named Hua Hua (literally: flower flower).

Hua Hua is a little bit of an enigma, and is probably best described as an otherworldly spirit, who um, literally embodies the souls of the other characters, including Shane Pow's chauvinistic bubble tea shop owner, and later, his "bimbotic, Regina George from Mean Girls" sister, played by Hong Ling.

Safe to say, Rui En really gets to flex her acting chops in this drama. Oh, and she also romances Elvin Ng (rejoice, Ruivin fans).

But back to our story: Rui En is in a very good mood today, and so, we feel bad that our questions aren’t really that happy. You see, in October this year, the actress’ fanclub had shared a very emotional post from Rui En, revealing that her cat had passed away "completely suddenly and unexpectedly.”
