On March 22, Rebecca Lim took to her Instagram to share a number of pictures of her family, an uncharacteristic move from the usually-private actress.

In her caption, the 34-year-old went on to reveal in a heartfelt eulogy that her grandfather had passed away early last week.

"Ah Gong was born into a humble family in Penang, received no formal education and started working as a coolie carrying sacks of rice for income. He found success via sheer determination, hustle and street smarts, but never once forgot his humble beginnings. He would always put others first, and there was no issue too small for him to help with. He was always generous with his resources and time.” her caption reads.
