The creepy incident took place at a block overlooking a river in Pasir Ris. Any guesses as to where it might be?

Real Estate Agent Shares Experience Viewing A Haunted Pasir Ris HDB Flat With His Clients

If you’ve heard of the lore surrounding a supposedly haunted neighbourhood in Pasir Ris, this story probably wouldn’t come as a surprise to you.

A local real estate agent recently took to TikTok — he has since removed the video — to share a creepy experience on one of his viewings.

He first explained that he was contacted by a couple who wished to buy an executive maisonette in Pasir Ris.

“It's a unit in Pasir Ris overlooking the river. I don’t want to mention which block, but if you’re familiar with Pasir Ris, you’ll know which block it is,” he said.

We shan’t keep the non-Easties in suspense here.

Based on his description, the block is likely to be located near Sungei Api Api, a river that flows through Pasir Ris Town. The area is notorious for being haunted  — a simple Google search would suffice if you’re curious to know more.

The agent and his clients arranged for a viewing session at 8pm, and upon reaching the place, was told by the seller’s agent to proceed with the viewing themselves as he was busy.

“I remember going up to the 8th floor. As we came out of the lift, there was a strong flower smell. I know it’s a cliche, but it was really strong. And the hairs on the back of my neck started standing,” he said, adding that the corridor felt “very dark”.

Uh-oh.

He said they were greeted by a “friendly uncle” at the door, with the agent noting that the house was dark and eerie. He then found out that the uncle wanted to sell the place as his wife had died in the house.

At that moment, the clients, who were looking around the house, “ran down" from the second floor and asked to leave.

The agent found it strange and his clients waited until they exited the lift on the first floor to share what they saw.

“When I was talking to the uncle they were upstairs looking at the rooms. In one particular room, there was a doll placed on the floor, and in front of the doll was some offerings made to the doll and some joss sticks. Like those you see during Hungry Ghost month,” he recalled.

He continued: “As they were looking at the doll, the wife noticed an old lady walking past her. But when she turned to look, there wasn’t anybody. At that same time, the bedroom door started to creak. That was when they freaked out and ran down the stairs.”

Of course his clients did not make an offer. The agent later came to find out that the house was eventually bought by a family who are permanent residents of Singapore.

A good number of netizens were already aware of the block’s reputation, with a handful guessing that it's located close to Sungei Api Api.

“This block is very famous… delivery riders also know very well [about] the scary atmosphere,” wrote one netizen, while another said that “Pasir Ris is known for creepy stuff”.

However, a few commenters who live in the area also said they have not experienced anything paranormal.

Others were more curious to find out about the family who bought the flat. Have they had the same encounter?

Guess we’ll never know… unless they go on TikTok to tell their story.
