Qi Yuwu & Christopher Lee’s Brother Frederick Lee Up For Best Actor In New York Awards
715 is in the running for his performance in A Quest To Heal, and Frederick for his role in Mind's Eye.
Will Qi Yuwu be getting a second Best Actor award for his performance as Ming Dynasty guard Bi Zheng in Mediacorp's time-travelling epic A Quest To Heal? There's a chance the 44-year-old might.
Only this time, he’s going international.
Yuwu, who won Best Actor at this year's Star Awards, revealed on IG yesterday (Jun 9) that he's one of the six finalists for the Best Performance by an Actor award at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
His post was soon flooded with congratulatory comments from fans and fellow celebs, including his A Quest To Heal co-stars Xu Bin and Jeffrey Xu.
Frederick in Mind's Eye
Malaysia's Frederick Lee aka Christopher Lee's younger brother is also nominated for his serial killer role in Mind's Eye.
In an interview, Frederick shared that he's "very grateful" for the nom. “Surprises like these often boost me up whenever I’m feeling low," he said, adding that he hopes to come back to Singapore soon "to work hard with everyone”.
The other finalists include local actors Lim Kay Tong and Imam Shah for Mediacorp productions Raksasa and SAGA 2.0 respectively. Hongkong actor Wayne Lai is also in the running for his performance in Death By Zero.
The Best Actress category sees Singaporean actress Udaya Soundari nominated for her role in Mediacorp thriller Arivaan.
The New York Festivals TV & Film Awards is an annual awards show honouring content in all lengths and forms from over 40 countries.
The winners for this year’s edition will be announced on October 12 in a ceremony held in Las Vegas.
