Priscelia Chan Requests Unofficial Fan Page To Shut Down Amid Scam Concerns, Gets Blocked By The Account Instead

Most celebrities would see having a fan club as a stamp of approval for their fame, especially when Star Awards 2026 is just around the corner.

But instead Mediacorp actress Priscelia Chan took to her socials to ask for a 'fan page' to be taken down.

Recently, the 47-year-old shared a screenshot of an account claiming to be an "Official Priscelia Chan fan page @ Mediacorp". In the bio, the page asked fellow fans to direct message them to join the fan club.

It has only one post, encouraging netizens to vote for Priscelia for the upcoming Star Awards 2026 to "clinch her first ever [Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes] trophy."

Yet in her caption, the actress made it clear that she's not in any way affiliated with said account.

"Putting this out to clarify I do not have any or endorse any official fan club," clarified Pris.

She thanked her fans for the support but stated that she does not have any intention to create a fan club.

"Especially in these times of high prevalence of scamming cases, please close the account," she wrote, further reminding her followers to not click any link from that 'fan page'.

The actress also emphasised her appreciation towards the support and stressed that she'd "felt it".

"But I need to be socially responsible too," she added.

A quick check on Instagram shows that the page currently still exists under the name "prisceliafanpage" and has eight followers at press time.

In an update, the fan page has made it clear that it shows no intention to shut down the account, and have continued rallying for votes for Priscelia.

"Priscelia is stopping us from this, but we need to prove to her that she can clinch Top 10," the page stated.

In a further twist of events, the account also said in the comments section: "Rest assured, [Priscelia has] agreed."

This prompted Priscelia to personally shut down the lies.

"It is brought to my notice again that the creator of this IG fan account is suspicious indeed. I did not and will not approve of such actions!" she said.

The actress also added that she'd been blocked from aforementioned post, further fueling her suspicions.

Priscelia isn't the first local actress to have requested for an unofficial fan page to close their  account  Cynthia Koh encountered a similar situation last September and DM-ed an unofficial fan page to close the account over fear of scammers and impersonators.

With scammers everywhere these days, it's important to be extra careful
So sus indeed
A true fan would clearly have respected her decision and shut down the page already
