“Power Couple” Ayden Sng & Chantalle Ng Are Really Good Friends, So Why Did She Tell Him To Marry Her?

Singapore entered its coronavirus-fighting “circuit breaker mode on April 7 (which feels like forever ago now), but things already started being relatively quiet on the local showbiz front since the DORSCON level was raised to its notorious, panic buying-sparking shade of orange two months before.

This means that almost all media events were cancelled, including press conferences, set visits, roadshows, and face-to-face interviews. Not exactly an ideal situation for an up-and-coming actor like Ayden Sng, who had just taken on his first lead drama role in Loving You and could have used the extra publicity. But the ambitious 26-year-old took it all in his stride.

Actually, he did way more than that. Instead of sitting around twiddling his thumbs and wishing that his blossoming career path involved less safe distancing measures, the Duke University grad took matters into his own hands, marshalled his own team for a professional “Power Couple”-themed photoshoot with his new BFF Chantalle Ng (more on their unexpected — and purely platonic, we should add — friendship later), and pitched the story to 8days.sg.

With a detailed PowerPoint presentation, by the way.
