Pop Mart Singapore Hiring Character Performers Under 152cm; Netizens Tag Their Friends Who Meet The Height Requirement
Who needs enemies when you have friends outing you as a short king or queen on the internet?
If you're the “short one” in your friend group, congratulations, your time to shine has come.
A recent Pop Mart Singapore job listing has gone viral after it revealed a very specific requirement for its character performer roles: Applicants must be 152cm and below.
Yes, there is, officially, a height cap, and there is actually a very practical reason behind it.
The role involves bringing Pop Mart’s popular characters to life in full mascot costumes, including fan favourites like Labubu and Twinkle Twinkle.
Too tall, and you are going to look less like a cute collectible and more like a slightly terrifying giant plush.
Of course, there are other job requirements stated as well, such as the ability to dance and perform in a mascot outfit and similar prior experience.
The listing, which surfaced on Monday (Apr 27), quickly blew up online. Netizens quickly outed their short friends in the comment sections, tagging their friends who meet the height requirement.
Others who actually met the requirement wasted no time claiming their moment themselves.
“Finally, being short comes in handy,” one wrote, while another commented, “OMG! I am 150-153!”
8days.sg has reached out to PopMart Singapore for comment.
While many netizens were excited about the idea of literally becoming their favourite Pop Mart characters, others quickly pointed out the obvious challenge… not everyone can meet the height requirement.
Some joked that while they would love the job, clearing the 152cm requirement might be the hardest part of the application.
Let’s be real, how often does a job listing turn a, er, shortcoming into a professional advantage?
And if you’re, well, above the limit (literally), tag your friends who meet this unique job requirement.
