Patricia Mok Broke Her Toes Twice In One Year, Still Continued Filming After Injury
Those who have accidentally stubbed a toe before would know how painful that is.
So can you imagine actually breaking two toes in just one year?
Local actress Patricia Mok recently sparked concern after she was seen wearing a walking cast on Instagram.
The 53-year-old revealed to Lianhe Zaobao that she had injured her toe after accidentally kicking a chair at home.
Patricia recalled feeling a sharp pain immediately and she looked down to see the last toe on her right foot bent at a 45-degree angle.
"With experience from last year's injury, I straightened the bent toe myself," said Patricia.
Wait, last year's injury?
As it turns out, the actress also accidentally kicked a hard object at home last October, which broke the fourth toe on her left foot.
She said that her left toe was similarly bent at that time, and she instinctively used her hand to straighten it without realising that it was already fractured.
Doesn't it hurt? Well, the actress said she just has "a high pain tolerance".
Even the doctor, who examined her injury this time, was impressed by how unfazed she was.
"I told him in a relaxed manner where it hurt and he was amazed. He said that usually, when someone has a broken toe, even a light touch would make them cry out in pain," she mused.
After injuring the first toe, Patricia actually continued filming for Jack Neo's 2025 comedy I Want To Be Boss, where she played an AI robot.
As if her toe injury wasn't bad enough, the actress also lost balance and fell onto a sofa during a shoot, and her ribs were injured by the metal structure of her robot costume.
She recalled being in so much pain that even breathing hurt.
Less than a year later, she fractured yet another toe, and Patricia now blames herself for always being in a rush and hence bumping into things.
Interestingly, she's wearing the same walking cast she used for an injury nearly ten years ago, when she also fractured the pinky toe on her left foot in a similar accident.
She said the fracture at that time affected her mobility and she needed a walking cast to stabilise the injury.
“Back then, the walking cast was really expensive, so I didn’t want to throw it away. Now it’s come in handy again," she laughed.
The actress is also not intending to let the injury get in her way of having fun.
Though the doctor said it would take six to eight weeks for the fractured bone to heal and she still walks with a limp, Patricia still plans to attend K-pop idols G-Dragon and CL's performance at the F1 Grand Prix Singapore 2025 on October 3.
