Pan Lingling’s Son Sports An American Accent During Street Interview In Korea

It has been a while since we last saw Beckham Wee, the older son of celeb couple Pan Lingling and Huang Shinan,pop up on our social media feed.

Lingling and Shinan have another son, Kynaston, 22, who is studying at NUS. 

Both Lingling and Beckham last appeared together in an interview on national service for the Ministry of Defence in 2022.

This time, the 24-year-old unexpectedly showed up in a very different setting – a street interview where he was asked about living in Korea and if he likes it there.

“So far yeah, especially in Hongdae,” before giving a smile. Many Korean celebs frequent Hongdae and is also where artiste agency, YG Entertainment’s offices are located.

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) undergraduate is currently in Seoul for Yonsei University’s summer program studying Game Theory & Application.

Also, don’t you think he looks uncannily like his dad, Shinan?

Beckham also describes staying in Korea as “more exciting and you get to meet a lot of different people here” though he admits “Singapore is also really diverse in itself”.

“But Korea just has a lot going on, and a lot of foreigners like visiting here from all walks of life,” he says.

At this point, we noticed Beckham was also sporting quite a strong American accent.

A quick check online showed that he has a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Data Science from UC Santa Barbara.

When asked if we would consider living in Korea, Beckham said he would though he had a caveat.

“The only issue for me is that I’m not sure if I would want to work in Korea,” he says.

Of course, sharp-eyed netizens (presumably Singaporeans) recognised Beckham and revealed who his parents are in the comments.

“He is a son of a famous actress in Singapore”, commented one, referring to Lingling.

Some were also attracted to Beckham’s looks and wrote, “What in the oppa do we have here?” while another netizen joked, “Name is Beckham, but looking like a K-pop idol”.

Considering he was interested in joining showbiz back in 2014, we think it is still not too late now.

Or is there another reason as to why he is in Hongdae that we are not privy to?
