Newly Married Kelvin Tan Will Only Be Able To Live With His Wife After Their BTO Is Completed In 2023
For now, they’ll shuttle between each other’s places.
OG Project Superstar winner Kelvin Tan, 40, tied the knot with Inez Hung, 29, who works in the medical field, on Jan 2 this year.
In an interview with UWeekly, the visually-impaired Kelvin shared more about his relationship with his wife.
The couple, who have been dating since 2016, first got together thanks to the efforts of Inez’s sister, whom they described as their “invisible matchmaker”.
Although their engagement was only revealed to the public in Oct 2020, the couple actually got engaged in 2019, after Kelvin expressed his wish to give Inez a “sense of stability”.
Their wedding saw 100 guests in attendance, mostly friends and relatives of the lovebirds. It was originally scheduled to be held in end-2021, according to Kelvin.
“We didn’t choose a special date [to tie the knot]. We started planning in 2020, and at that time, our wedding was to be held in end-2021. Later, ‘cos of safe-distancing regulations, we chose to hold it in January 2022,” Kelvin said.

And what of Kelvin’s remark in a past interview, where he said he wanted to marry when he turned 40?
“I'm still 40 this year, it just so happens that ideally, I’d want to get married at this age. But I’m not someone who plans far into the future. Usually, I would just plan for the next year or two ahead for me,” he said.
Kelvin and Inez, who wish to have a “simple and ordinary” life together, were just a little shy when asked to share what they liked the most about each other.
“I can’t quite say [what I like about my wife], it’s just that we’re able to get along very naturally. When we’re together, it feels very comfortable, it doesn’t seem like there’s anything particularly special,” Kelvin mused.
As for Inez, Kelvin laughed that she says she “doesn’t know” what she likes best about him too.
Home sweet home (for now)
Unfortunately, the couple, who has successfully applied for a build-to-order (BTO) flat together, will not be able to live together with each other anytime soon as their flat will only be completed in 2023.
For now, they will shuttle between each other’s places, with Kelvin staying in the West, and Inez in the north.
The couple shared that they used to run together a lot, but had to gradually cut down on this hobby of theirs as they got caught up with work prior to their marriage.
Thankfully, they’ve been able to spend more time together with each other after getting hitched. Apart from jogging, another thing they have in common is their love of food.
“I like Korean food, that’s more strong-tasting, while my wife likes soupy food. We’ll look for something that allows us to meet in the middle, and would accompany each other to eat the food we like too,” he said.
