Miss Universe S’pore Annika Xue Sager Reunited With Missing Bag After 48-Hour Chase: "I Really Thought I Wasn't Going To Get It Back"

For two days, Miss Universe Singapore 2025 Annika Xue Sager watched her missing bag travel around Singapore... without her.

Now, after what she describes as an emotional 48-hour chase involving Apple's Find My app, an HDB block, a wrongly identified car and plenty of sleepless moments, the 26-year-old has finally been reunited with it.

Speaking to 8days.sg, Annika admitted there were moments she genuinely thought she'd never see her belongings again.

"There were definitely moments where I really thought I wasn't going to get my bag back," she said.

The ordeal began when her bag accidentally fell off her motorcycle along Swiss Club Road.

She only realised it was missing after arriving at her destination.

Inside were her wallet, AirPods, identification documents, bank cards, keys, rain gear, make-up, and products from brands she'd recently started collaborating with.

"I was back at the spot in less than five minutes. But my bag had already disappeared,” she shared in an earlier Instagram Reel.

Fortunately, one item inside was still traceable: her AirPods.

Using Apple's Find My app, Annika began tracking them, hoping they would lead her back to her bag.

Instead, she watched them embark on what felt like a tour of Singapore.

According to the app, the AirPods appeared at locations including Changi Airport, Pullman Singapore Hill Street and St Joseph's Institution.

"I was relieved to have something I could track, but at the same time I couldn't believe I was watching my AirPods move all over Singapore. I was just trying to follow every update,” she told 8days.sg.

At one point, she even wondered if whoever had picked up the bag might have been a chauffeur or ride-hailing driver, though she stressed it was purely speculation.

She later thought she'd finally caught a break when the signal settled in Bukit Panjang.

There, she found a black car parked almost exactly where Find My indicated her AirPods were.

But it turned out to be a dead end.

"I didn't want to present something I couldn't confirm as fact," she said, explaining why she had always been careful not to accuse anyone publicly.

Later that evening, the signal moved again, this time to an HDB block.

Annika spent hours walking through all nine floors with her phone in hand, hoping the AirPods would reconnect strongly enough to pinpoint the exact unit.

"I was honestly losing hope. Going floor by floor and still not knowing exactly where the bag was was incredibly frustrating,” she said, adding that close family friends came to help with the search.

Ironically, what surprised her most wasn't how far the AirPods had travelled, but where they eventually stopped.

"The HDB block was actually in the same neighbourhood where I live. After seeing the AirPods travel across practically the whole island, what are the chances?" she laughed.

Throughout the ordeal, Annika remained in close contact with the Singapore Police Force, forwarding every new location update she received after filing a police report.

She credits both the police and Apple's Find My feature for helping recover her belongings.

"Find My gave me the only lead I personally had, but the police also utilised their own investigative methods, so it wasn't solely down to the app," she said.

She was eventually informed that someone had handed in her bag.

When she was finally reunited with it, the feeling was immediate.

"Just complete relief. After spending so many hours trying to track it down and not knowing whether I'd ever see it again, finally having it back was an amazing feeling,” she said.

As a precaution, Annika has since cancelled all the bank cards that were inside the bag.

Looking back, she says the experience left her with two key takeaways.

"Enable tracking on your devices. And when you're following digital breadcrumbs across Singapore, document what you know, but be careful not to jump to conclusions," she said.
