Jessica Hsuan and Michelle Saram’s Sentosa Reunion Sparks Debate Over “Ageing Naturally”
A Step Into The Past stars Jessica Hsuan and Michelle Saram reunited in Singapore, but netizens couldn’t resist comparing their looks after 20 years.
When two celebrities cross paths, comparisons are inevitable.
Recently, Hong Kong actress Jessica Hsuan, 55, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a friend’s store in Sentosa.
In a now-viral clip, Jessica was seen chatting with a friend when her A Step Into The Past (2001) co-star, Singaporean actress Michelle Saram, 50, suddenly snuck up from behind.
Jessica, who clearly didn’t expect the surprise, was momentarily stunned before breaking into a huge smile and greeting Michelle with genuine joy.
However, while the heartwarming reunion touched many fans, some netizens chose to focus on appearances instead.
Michelle, who received praise for keeping her trim figure over the years, also drew criticism from netizens who speculated that she had “overdone cosmetic procedures”.
In contrast, fans felt that Jessica, who is five years older, had "aged gracefully and naturally".
This isn’t the first time the two actresses have reunited.
Back in 2023, Jessica also met up with Michelle while in Singapore filming Mediacorp’s mystery series Kill Sera Sera — the crime thriller that later earned Jessica her first Star Awards Best Actress in July this year.
Michelle, meanwhile, left showbiz after marrying Indonesian hotelier Ajai Zecha in 2010. She turned her focus on the F&B industry, only making occasional screen appearances, her last being in Mediacorp’s I Believe I Can Fly as Thomas Ong's love interest.
