Michelle Chong Cuts Her Own Hair 'Cos She's Too "Lazy To Drive All The Way To The Salon"
Which other star revealed that she's her own hairdresser too?
Singapore’s Circuit Breaker period has created a lot of amateur hairstylists, and Michelle Chong’s one of them. In fact, she’s so confident in her skills that she continues to cut her own tresses even though hair salons have been operating for a while now.
A snip of faith
Yesterday (July 21), the 43-year-old actress showed off her hairdressing chops in a video that she posted on Instagram and Facebook.
“I’m tired of my long hair, so I’m gonna cut it off,” she laughed at the start of the clip, before snipping off a chunk of her hair while standing in front of a bathroom mirror.
Armed only with a pair of "titanium" scissors and confidence
Yes, that’s right. No clippers, combs, damp hair and all that jazz. Michelle literally took her "titanium scissors" and snipped away.
In her caption, she revealed that people “never believe” her when she tells them that she cuts her own hair sometimes (why would you when you have celebrity hair stylists?) and that her main reason for doing so is because she’s too “lazy to drive all the way to the salon and sit there for such a long period of time”.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Michelle Chong 庄米雪 (@immichellechong) on Jul 21, 2020 at 2:25am PDT
The end result
The clip didn't just surprise her followers, it also left many of them very impressed with her skills.
Some asked Michelle to open her own hair salon, while others joked that she should use the hair that she cut off to make a um, calligraphy brush.
Michelle also received praise from her fellow stars including former actress Tracy Lee, who left a comment saying that she “likes to cut [her] own hair too”.
"In fact, I hold a mirror in one hand and the scissors in the other, five snips and I'm done," Tracy added. Now that's a vid we would totally watch as well.
