Last week (Jan 28), Singaporean singer Mavis Hee, 48, surprised everyone with an appearance at the River Hongbao 2023 - Singapore Talent Night concert.

Mavis performed her hit songs 'Moonlight in the City' and 'Sunshine After The Rain', taking the audience on a trip down memory lane.

At the end of her set, the singer, who appeared to be in good spirits, bowed to the audience and said: "Thank you everyone, see you next time".

Is Mavis hinting that she'll be in the spotlight more from now on?

We finally got to see Mavis perform 'Moonlight in the City' live again

We definitely hope so given how thrilled her fans are to see her back on stage again.

"Watching her sing already made me very happy," commented one netizen while another effused: "All of Mavis' songs are classics."

Mavis was a guest performer at Stefanie Sun's concert in 2014

Mavis' performance at this year's River Hongbao was definitely a treat for those who miss the singer. The last time she was seen on stage was in 2014 when she was the special guest at Stefanie Sun's concert at the Taipei Arena. Then, the singers duetted on ‘Moonlight in the City'.

Mavis faded out of showbiz in the early 2000s after she was reportedly dropped by her record label following a restructuring. There were also rampant rumours about her personal life.

In 2006, Mavis revealed she was diagnosed with clinical depression and in 2019, a netizen claimed they saw Mavis busking along Orchard Road.
