Mark Lee Is Helping Entrepreneurs Badly Affected By COVID-19 Outbreak By Selling Their Stuff On FB Live
Mark Lee is bringing back the kampung spirit amidst the gloom of the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a favour to a friend has snowballed into an initiative where he proactively seeks out business owners hit badly by the outbreak to help them sell these products through Facebook Live broadcasts.

Here’s how it all began: In mid-May, he met up with a friend, who mentioned to him that his business wasn’t doing great because of the pandemic. This friend, whom Mark has known for years, supplies frozen meats and seafood to atas restaurants and hotels, then pleaded for Mark to start doing live streams to help hawk his products, which was how the Facebook page Mark Of Freshness started.

“He asked me if I could help him tide over this period. He’s a friend, but even then, I had to make sure that his stuff is of a certain quality,” Mark told 8days.sg over the phone. “I’m very afraid of receiving complaints. I’m the one who’s appearing on screen, so if there’s an issue with the items, I’ll be the one who will end up getting questioned over it. I had to check every single part of the process: ordering, packaging, delivering, and quality control.”
