“I Sobbed When I Saw The Picture”: Mark Lee Found Out About 15-Year-Old Daughter’s Budding Romance From IG And Has Since Met The Boy For A Meal

All dads dread the day their daughters tell them that they have a boyfriend.

For Mark Lee, he couldn't even prepare himself for the bombshell.

The 55-year-old actor recently met with the media to talk about his upcoming Chinese New Year movie Money No Enough 3. 

Mark, who has three kids — Calista, 15, Marksonn, 12, and Calynn, 10 — with wife Catherine Ng, was asked if he would urge his children to get married when the time is right. 

"Honestly, I do wish that they would get married earlier. I had kids at an older age so I hope that they can get married early and I can get to see my grandchildren," he shared in an interview with 8world.

Does that mean he's ready to let his eldest daughter start dating? Well, it appears Mark Gor doesn't really have a choice.

When asked if Calista has suitors already, the actor sighed: "Just like us when we were 15 years old, she has started asking: "Daddy, can I have a boyfriend?". I told her: "Yes, but I need to agree to [him]." I couldn't say no. If I did she would just do it secretly. If I said yes, at least she would share it with me."

"In the past, my parents were okay with everything, so I was always open about my relationships. Even my principal knew I had a girlfriend," he joked.

In fact, Mark reluctantly admitted he has already met his daughter's boyfriend for a meal.

"I think this generation [of kids] is very different. There's nothing to hide. How did we even find out about this boy in the first place? Instagram. If she didn't like him, would she [lean on his shoulder] while taking a picture?" lamented Mark. 

He continued: "I was sobbing when I saw the picture. It's been five to 10 years since the last time she got close to me like that."

That said, Mark also reminded his daughter to not let others take advantage of her.

"I told her, try your best to protect yourself. But if one day, you accidentally have a child out of wedlock, come back and tell Daddy, I will settle it for you," he said.

"Of course my heart will ache if my daughter gets scammed. But I can't say that she wasn't discerning. If us adults, who have been through so much, can be fooled, let alone the young ones. So if that really happens, I will tell her: 'As long as I'm still around, I will help you to raise [the kid]'."

Is Mark the coolest dad or what?
