Not exactly the most auspicious gift but it makes sense for Marcus, who says he has already made his own future funeral arrangements.

While death is still a taboo topic for many, there are people who don’t mind talking about it.

Love 972 DJ Marcus Chin happens to fall into the latter group.

According to zaobao.sg, the 70-year-old jock revealed at an event organised by the Singapore Hospice Council earlier this month that he has his funeral arrangements settled already.

"Times have changed, people are no longer afraid to talk about [things like this]," he said.

Marcus, who has a 13-year-old daughter Elise with his ex girlfriend and personal assistant Eileen Cheah, has six columbarium niches in Tampines.

In a subsequent interview with Shin Min Daily News, Marcus explained that the niches were actually gifted to him when he became an ambassador for a funeral service business.

He has also decided on his own future funeral arrangements.

"I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 50. Now I have to go for two check ups a year and I listen to the doctor when he asks me to take my medication and control my diet. When you're 70, you need to decide on many things in advance," he said.
