Man On SBS Transit Bus Praised For Reacting Calmly After Woman Spills Starbucks Coffee On Him
Now you know why there are such strict rules against bringing food and drinks onto public transport.
Recently, netizen Ashley shared on Xiaohongshu an incident she encountered while taking an SBS Transit bus one morning.
In the video she posted, a man was seen pouring water out of his bottle onto his pants apparently to clean it. A stream of brown liquid trickled down the floor and there was a lady standing in front of him and she was holding a takeaway cup of Starbucks coffee.
"[The bus] had to brake suddenly because of an emergency. Those who take buses in Singapore would know how big the impact is. Half a cup of Starbucks coffee just spilled over all over this uncle," wrote Ashley.
She went on to praise the man for staying calm and patient despite the major inconvenience the lady caused.
"There was no rage, no blaming. Some people passed him tissue while the lady kept apologising. He just smiled understandingly," said Ashley.
Netizens also applauded the man for being good tempered as they would have gone crazy if the same thing happened to them.
At the end of her post, Ashley addressed Starbucks, asking them to consider upgrading their takeaway cups.
She also urged commuters to adhere to public transport rules, asserting: "It is made for a reason!"
She's right. Not only could the man have been badly scalded, someone would also need to clean up the mess after.
