Long Queue At Toa Payoh S’pore Pools Outlet For S$10Mil Draw “Perfectly Showcases S’pore’s Tradition”, Says Chinese Netizen

One of the things that makes us uniquely Singaporean is that we love to queue — for food, great deals, sales, and of course, buying Toto. 

Earlier today (Apr 25), a Chinese netizen, who goes by Gu Ni Tai Mei on Xiaohongshu, shared that she came across a snaking queue outside Fairprice at Toa Payoh.

Everyone there was waiting to place their bets at the Singapore Pools kiosk in the supermarket for the Toto draw next Monday (Apr 28), which has an estimated prize pot of S$10mil.

The prize money snowballed after there were no Group One winners in the last three draws on Apr 17, Apr 21, and Apr 24 respectively. 

"This is the spectacular queue situation for Toto in Singapore! Perfectly showcases Singapore's tradition: long queue must queue," the netizen captioned.

Many of Gu Ni's pals from abroad were amused by what they saw too. One Chinese netizen, who's evidently unfamiliar with our Toto culture, even asked: "Why are there so many people queueing? Is there a sale?"

Meanwhile, a local commented that the Singapore Pools at the Fairprice branch in Toa Payoh had sold the winning ticket multiple times, which probably explains why people have flocked there this time as well. 

If the place is really that huat, no harm trying, right?
