Lim Peifen Once Found A Cockroach In Her Siew Mai From A Local Dim Sum Chain

Granted, this happened 14 years ago, but still… yucks.

Lim Peifen Once Found A Cockroach In Her Siew Mai From A Local Dim Sum Chain

On June 30, it was reported that the NEX outlet of local dim sum chain Ho Kee Pau was ordered by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) to recall all food products from its supplier.

“Widespread” pest infections, as well as cockroach and rodent droppings had been discovered at HKP Food Technology, a company that supplies Ho Kee Pau with its food items.

The food business operations of HKP Food Technology have been suspended and all 12 of Ho Kee Pau outlets have been closed since Thursday (Jul 1).

After reading an article on its closure, YES 93.3FM DJ Lim Peifen was reminded of this far-from-yummy experience she had at the Geylang outlet of the dim sum chain some 14 years ago.

Taking to her Instagram to share screenshots of a blogpost she made back then, Peifen revealed that she’d gone there for breakfast with her friend and they ordered a table full of dim sum, including har gao, siew mai, chee cheong fan and char siew pau.
