Lawrence Wong Is Now The First International Ambassador For Chinese Streaming Site iQIYI, Which Has 500mil Active Users A Month

Believe it or not, but Lawrence Wong, who celebrated his birthday yesterday (Aug 5), has “never ever thrown a birthday party". But it's not like he doesn't have any plans though.

“I’m celebrating by working,” laughed Lawrence, who is currently filming iQIYI drama The Ferryman: Legends of Nanyang in Johor Bahru, alongside Mediacorp actor Qi Yuwu and Taiwanese newbie Kate Kinney.

“It’s the same for me every year. Last year, I was filming Girlfriend in Wuxi. This year I’m on the set of The Ferryman: Legends of Nanyang. [There are other celebs who take a day off on their birthdays but] to each his own — there’s no right or wrong. Maybe it’s because I’ve never put a huge emphasis on birthdays. As long as you’re happy and healthy, every day can be your birthday," the busy bee told 8days.sg via voice messages in between his takes on the set of Ferryman.

"In fact, I think it’s a blessing to work on your birthday, especially in times like these. You have to count your blessings."

And blessings are what Lawrence has in abundance.
