TikTok Star Khaby Lame Spotted At Mala Tang Restaurant In Kampong Glam
It’s not every day you see the world’s most-followed TikTok influencer on the streets of Singapore.
At just 25, Senegalese-Italian content creator Khaby Lame boasts an audience of over 160 million followers on the social media platform.
He rose to fame for his signature silent, deadpan reactions that hilariously simplify overly complicated videos, including DIY tutorials, impractical life hacks, staged pranks, and basically any trends that seem a bit, well, silly.
Earlier this week, Khaby and his team were spotted entering Tang Huo Kung Fu Mala Tang along Bussorah Street in Kampong Glam. In an Instagram post shared by the eatery, he was also seen taking time to snap photos with staff inside the restaurant.
So, did he fly all the way from Italy just for a bowl of mala tang?
Turns out, he was in Singapore at the invitation of a local company.
A rep from Shambhala Kingdom (Singapore) Network Technology Limited tells 8days.sg: “Our company invited him over to Singapore on Feb 10 to do a live stream on TikTok and invited him to our new restaurant to eat on his day off.”
His visit to our shores was pretty low-key, with hardly anyone knowing he was here apart from those directly involved.
For fans hoping to catch Khaby while he was in town — or perhaps even share a bowl of mala tang with him — we’re sorry to be the bearers of bad news.
“He flew back this morning (Feb 13),” the representative confirmed.
