Kate Pang’s Son Writes Hilarious Essay Describing Her As “Short” And “Very Fat”
Looks like Aden, 8, is in big trouble.
Kids really do say (or in this case, write) the darnedest things sometimes, as Taiwan-based actress-host Kate Pang, 39, recently found out.
The mother-of-two took to her Instagram earlier this week (Mar 2) to gamely post a short essay her son, Aden Chen, eight, wrote.
Kate is married to local actor Andie Chen, and the couple has two kids together — Aden, and Avery, six.
“[My] son’s essay — “My Mum”,” Kate wrote in her caption, before going on to transcribe what Aden wrote, word-for-word.
You’re welcome — we’ve translated the Chinese essay into English for you.
Here’s what the essay says about Kate: “My mum is 39 this year, very fat, a little short, and not very good at exercising. She really likes to wear clothes that are airy, she’s very kind, and really likes getting angry. But I really love her. My mum is really irritating, she’ll choose to do something just when I don’t want her to do that thing. She really cares for me, sometimes, ‘cos she cares too much for me, she’ll hit me. I wish to tell her, please don’t be too emotional.”
Er… Not quite a Mother’s Day tribute, is it?
Netizens and celebs alike were tickled pink by Aden’s hilarious essay, with YES 933DJ Kunhua writing: “The last line is too funny. How can mum not become emotional after reading the essay.”
One netizen commented that it was “a speechless ending”, while another joked that Aden’s essay even had “a punchline” of its own.
Kate added her own thoughts on Aden’s work using a couple of hashtags, joking that Aden must’ve got the wrong person, ‘cos she’s “49kg and 165cm tall”.
“Is that fat? How is that short?” Kate questioned, adding that she’s been doing yoga for over 10 years too.
“I want to see how you’ll write about your dad,” she wrote. Well, Andie, guess you’re next on the chopping board.
