Joel Choo Heartbroken After Beloved Dog Dies From Bone Marrow Cancer

Local actor Joel Choo shared about the recent passing of his beloved pooch.

"Thank you Snowy for coming into our lives. You taught me what it truly means to love, and to be loved in return," the 31-year-old ex-Mediacorp actor revealed on Instagram last night (Oct 13).

Fans of Joel would be familiar with Snowy, the adorable Japanese Spitz who frequently appeared on the actor's social media. She was the furkid of Joel and his wife Jiayuan.

Earlier this year, Snowy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer.

"She was so brave, so strong, always enduring quietly, with that same gentle spirit. Even when the pain came, she still tried to be her cheerful self," wrote Joel, who is the son veteran actor Zhu Houren.

He shared that Snowy grew weaker in the past week due to health complications. 

"On 11th October, she crossed the rainbow bridge. It still feels very sudden. I find myself missing you in all the small moments, your footsteps, your warmth, your presence," he wrote. 

The actor also thanked Snowy for the love she "gave so freely".

"You’ve left paw prints on our hearts that will never ever fade. Rest well, my brave girl, my best friend, until we meet again beyond the rainbow."
