“I Cooked Proper Meals For You, Okay!” JJ Lin’s Mum Tells Off Singer After He Said She Cooked Indomie For Him As A Kid
When you try to involve your mum in the conversation, and immediately get scolded.
One perk of being a superstar is receiving gifts that are iconic to places whenever they go on tour.
JJ Lin, 43, performed at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta last month and he recently shared a YouTube vlog of his time in Indonesia.
Before his concert, JJ was seen posing for pics and looking through the gifts he received.
The most eye-catching present was this huge bouquet of Indomie. We can’t think of anyone who doesn't like Indonesia's most famous brand of instant noodles. And it seems JJ is a fan too.
“It’s very tasty. We all know, us Singaporeans, we have loved eating this since we were little. As we grew older, we felt obliged to say that it’s unhealthy to eat so much instant noodles, so we cut down our intake,” said a cheery JJ.
He continued: “When I was young, my mum would cook these instant noodles for me. Am I right, mum?”
The camera then pans to JJ’s mum, who was watching her son in the background the whole time.
Without missing a beat, she quipped: “Was I so lazy? I cooked proper meals for you, okay!”
Her well-timed delivery, combined with her deadpan expression, made JJ and his crew erupt into laughter.
Now you know, don’t go telling people your mum always cooked instant noodles for you as a kid, okay?
