Our homeboy JJ Lin has hit an an ace. Well, sorta. The 36-year-old singer became the first Asian star to score an invite to the prestigious Wimbledon tennis tournament. (Yes, that's Uma Thurman and Sienna Miller seated behind him but more on that later.)
He was part of the star-studded crowd who turned up at Centre Court on Sunday (July 16) to watch Roger Federer beat Marin Cilic to claim his record-breaking eighth Wimbledon title.
“I'm very excited. This is my first time attending Wimbledon. Previously, I only got to hear about it from my friends, watch it on TV, and read reports. To be able to personally come here, and to soak in the atmosphere, culture and history of it, is like paying homage,” said JJ in an interview. “I hope to share these memories with my friends and family back home cos it’s a very rare opportunity.”

A Singapore construction site has reached 6 million accident-free man hours, marking a major safety milestone in one of the country’s highest-risk industries. Accident-free man hours refer to the total number of hours worked across all workers without a single injury, often used as a benchmark for workplace safety performance in construction projects. While such achievements are widely celebrated, Singapore’s construction sector continues to face challenges, with dozens of deaths and major injuries reported in 2025 alone. At the same time, improvements in worker welfare — including upgraded dormitories with better living conditions, recreational facilities, and shared spaces — are becoming a key part of the broader push towards safer worksites. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #singapore #sgnews #migrantworkers
