Jesseca Liu, Priscelia Chan, Apple Hong, Michelle Chia And Jayley Woo Had A CNY Reunion 5 Years After The Queen
Yup, it’s been five years since the drama first aired, and they’re as close as ever.
Back in 2016, before kick-ass, #girlpower Hollywood blockbusters like Captain Marvel, us local entertainment buffs had The Queen.
The Mediacorp drama, which aired on February 18, 2016 (exactly five years ago today), centred around a team of uniquely skilled femme fatale vigilantes aka the Revenge Queen, played by actresses Jesseca Liu, Priscelia Chan, Apple Hong, Michelle Chia, Vivian Lai and Jayley Woo.

And yes, they were as badass as the drama's poster implied.
Now, five years on, it appears that the stars are as close as ever. Only this time, instead of doling out justice, the ladies got busy catching up with each other during their most recent meet up.
On February 16, the actresses got together for a long overdue catch-up over lunch, making sure to celebrate two very special occasions at the same time.
The first, of course, was Chinese New Year.
“On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, it’s a must to meet up with my four queens, so that my eyes can feast on this beautiful ‘scenery’. Since I’ve seen something so gorgeous, I’ll definitely enjoy a peaceful year, with loads of fortune. A wonderful start to a great year! Wishing everyone happiness,” Apple wrote in her caption, slipping in some new year greetings for an extra huat factor.
Happy belated birthday, Jesseca!
The second, was a surprise birthday celebration for February baby Jesseca, who’d celebrated her 42nd birthday just three days earlier, on February 13.
“About yesterday. A surprise from the queens, I was really pampered [by them],” Jesseca shared in an Instagram Story update, revealing that she’d received a belated birthday surprise during lunch.
“It'll be great if my queens could be with me during my birthday every year,” she added in a second video.
And to that we say: yes please! Or even better, can we get a sequel to The Queen?
