Jeanette Aw Once Told A Co-Star To “Do His Homework” & Learn His Lines Before Coming On Set
According to the 46-year-old, the unnamed actor didn’t take it too well and snapped back at her.
Most people's first impression of former Mediacorp actress Jeanette Aw is bright and cheerful, but it seems the 46-year-old can be feisty, when need be, in her own way, of course.
Jeanette recently recounted an incident on The Irene Ang Show where she revealed a time when she got angry with an unnamed actor while on set.
Though she did not specify when or which drama it was, she shared that there were many intense scenes which required her to cry and quarrel with her co-star in the show.
However, she said that her co-star kept turning up unprepared.
“He would be coming on set, eating his breakfast [and] reading his script for the first time when we were reading our lines," said Jeanette.
Irene let out a drawn-out “No…” and said she also can’t “tahan”.
“And he was always like 'Uh, uh, uh, uh', you know, like trying to think and remember his lines as we were acting. So I told him: 'Can you please at least do your homework?'
“Because it affects everybody and I am on set from morning to night, and it is very intense. If you do your work, we will get through it very fast,” Jeanette added.
It seems Jeanette’s castmate didn’t appreciate being called out and according to her, responded negatively.
“He actually told me, “You think it is so easy? You try doing something in another language?”
Ouch.
While Irene tried to empathise, saying their Mandarin was also not her strongest suit, and that she found it a challenge when she did two Chinese dramas last year, Jeanette disagreed and said the actor did speak Mandarin.
“When I see your attitude, and you are really trying, I will also help you. So, that’s why I will be patient with them, because everyone goes through that stage,” Jeanette explained.
Now, we wonder who this equally feisty actor is that Jeanette clashed with?
