James Seah And Nicole Chang Min Are Renting An Apartment First While Waiting For Their BTO To Be Ready
They've been Instagramming their "adulting journey".
Mediacorp actor James Seah and his influencer fiancée Nicole Chang Min are pretty much striking off all the checkboxes on the unofficial list of “things you need to do before getting married in Singapore”.
From applying for a BTO (and succeeding on the very first try), to having a picture-perfect proposal, the couple looks well set on their way to wedded bliss.
And so they’ve gone on to take the next step — living together.
But as it turns out, the flat that they just moved into isn't their BTO flat (which will only be ready in 2023, at the earliest). Instead, it's a rented two-bedder condominium unit located "around 10 minutes from town", as James shared when 8days.sg caught up with him in a quick phone interview.

"Actually, we didn't plan to rent at first, but yeah I guess [COVID-19] is one of the factors, it delayed the [completion of our BTO] by about six months, so we thought why not try renting first, and see how we like it,” James shared.
"We actually just moved in yesterday (Nov 10), it was a very busy day and we had to go to our places to get our own stuff. The house's in a mess right now and we haven't packed our clothes or anything yet,” he added, when asked about their big move.

And like every other young couple, James and Nicole are really amped to have a place of their own. Though he declined to reveal how much they're paying a month, he says that they’re shelling out a "comfortable amount” for the semi-furnished apartment.

Now that they’ve moved in together, is there anything that’ll change for the couple? Well, its too early to say just yet, but for James, he’ll definitely have to step up his Instagram Boyfriend skills. After all, Nicole is a full-time influencer.
“We haven’t really settled in yet, but I think I'll be more of an Instagram Boyfriend now. The place is quite nice, and really, the aesthetics of the flat is what drew us to it (…), so I guess there's more angles and places for [Nicole] to take photos now,” he says.
And from what we’ve seen of the place so far? He’s not wrong.
