Is It Common For Guys Using Toilet Cubicles To Not Lock The Door? Local Musician Calls Out Bizarre Behaviour

We all know that urinals in men's toilets don't come with doors, but there must be a reason why the cubicles have locks, right?

Recently, local musician Dominic Chin shared an Instagram Reel calling out "people who pee without locking the door".

"How come you never lock the door? How come I go in, because the door is ajar, I push in, the door hits you and you go: 'Eh, eh. I peeing,'" he questioned.

"How dare you? How dare you 'eh' me? You got lock the door or not?" Dominic added.

The musician said that he should be the one screaming or being shocked by what he saw, because he "did not ask to be scared in this manner".

"I did not ask to intrude into your privacy, [because] you ownself never lock the door," he scoffed.

Dominic's rant seemingly struck a chord with many male netizens, while several female viewers expressed confusion over the anecdote, with one saying that this was new information to her.

"It happens so much it's not even funny," Dominic replied to a comment.

Meanwhile, one guy remarked: "Oh yes! Finally someone is talking about this!"

Another male netizen also shared that the same thing happened to him when he was going to use the handicap toilet.

He recalled an old uncle in the cubicle who "shouted at [him] as if it wasn't his fault for not locking the door".

"I wanted to shout back but I also didn't want to engage with his [private parts] any longer, so I just closed the door," the netizen wrote.

One netizen, on the other hand, urged Dominic to show empathy towards users who might be "damn high tide" and urgently need to use the loo.

"[They] quickly rush in to release before wetting pants mah. Give chance leh. Old people cannot hold bladder so well one (sic)," they argued.

But... it doesn't seem to be an issue among women, though?

Literally how one would react if they walked into someone else peeing
Why not just use the urinals if you don't want to lock?
