This past week, Hari Raya celebrations were in full swing, while keeping to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) regulations, of course. We also saw timely and very important reminders from celebs to not be Covidiots. Stay safe everyone!
David Gan snapped back at an aesthetic doctor who did not have nice things to say about Fann Wong
On May 12, a Singaporean aesthetic doctor wrote a long blog post where he analysed Fann's features, claiming that the actress has "cheek fillers". He also claimed that one of his patients cancelled an appointment with him after seeing Fann at this year's Star Awards.
In response, Fann's pal, celeb hairstylist David Gan, called the remarks "a little insensitive" and blasted the doc for passing "judgement on someone [he's] never met in person", adding that the post is maybe the doctor's "way of boosting business".
Fann and her husband Christopher Lee have both left heart and kissy face emojis in support of David's clapback.

Nurul Aini had a short and sweet Raya
Even with the COVID-19 restrictions, Nurul managed to spend quality time with her family this year. She gushed, "It was a very (very) short Raya but you know what? I got to visit/meet all the important people in my life this Raya and that is all that matters."

Fauzie Laily went virtual when it came to Raya visiting
For a second year in a row, rising community cases and the imposing of stricter COVID-19 rules meant that family gatherings during Hari Raya had to be reduced in size. But thanks to technology, Fauzie got to catch up with his extended family members through Zoom.

Tay Kewei's son Momo joined in the Raya festivities too

Chen Xiuhuan got her second dose of the vaccine
Xiuhuan was among those who got their second jab this week, and she took the opportunity to thank "all the medical professionals and front line workers who made this possible".

Yvonne Lim sent 5000 boxes of nougats to nurses in Singapore hospitals
Yvonne may be in Taiwan, but her heart is very much in Singapore. The actress sent these very sweet treats to nurses from five hospitals to mark International Nurses Day.
She wrote, "Thank you for what you do each and every day, the selfless work, sacrificing time from family and courage being in the frontline during this entire pandemic. As measures are tightened not only in Singapore but also in Taiwan... Let's all do our part to help our nurses and frontline workers to fight this battle by being responsible and safe at all times".

Gerald Koh announced that he's having a baby
"There's a BAO in the oven!! Fully steamed this November," Gerald declared on IG. We have to say this is one of the cutest baby announcements we've seen in a while, and bonus points have to be awarded to the couple for including their furkids Donut and Bagel in the shot too.

Siti Khalijah wrote a poignant post on Mother's Day
Amongst the many sweet Mother's Day dedications that we saw this year, the actress' post was one that tugged at our heartstrings.
"You've been pretty strong Mak, despite what you have to go through so far... [I] took this photo on 29th March, when she took a short break from caring for my late Ayah at the hospital. I hope I can be half the woman you are," Siti said. "Happy Mother's Day, Mak."

Irene Ang reminded everyone not to be a Covidiot
With the announcement of Phase 2 (heightened alert), the scramble to stock up at supermarkets started again... Along with toilet paper hoarding.
"Dearest Aunties n uncles , plssss hor.. the garmen say many times liao, we got keep enuff in d warehouse store for u to pangsai k ! If not, we all also can use d water jet. If dun hv, d rubber tube can buy fm hardware shops . 1meter few dollars only. Can was clean clean n shiok shiok k! Last for years to come!! (sic)" wrote Irene.
Chew Chor Meng had some sombre news to share
The actor announced that his popular mookata chain, 888 Mookata, will be closed from 16 May to 13 June as dine-ins are not allowed during this period. He added, "Stay home, stay safe and we will update on our reopening again."
