It's the first week of 2023, and for many of our celeb parents, that means the first day of school for their kids. And of course, there were the usual celebrations and holiday snaps. Scroll on to read more.

Hong Junyang sent his daughter off for her first day of primary school.

Truly a milestone moment.

"Emotional day today. It’s Azalea’s first day of Primary 1. My little girl has grown up. Accompanied her to school [and] happy to see her embracing her new environment well, making new friends [and] exploring new things," Junyang wrote, sharing this picture of father and daughter on their way to school, complete with emo black-and-white filter.

And it's the start of Primary 2 for Leon Jay William's daughter, Harper.

Now, this seems like a good way to document one's schooling years, with a picture taken on the first day of every school year.

Nurul Aini's son just started secondary school, but she's already steeling her heart for his National Service days

"So this is the beginning of a new chapter of your life, Shan. Have fun learning and enjoy your secondary school years because it will be the most memorable years of your life," wrote Nurul, before going on to joke: "Sad that I will be seeing less of you (...) but mummy gotta prep for when NS [National Service] comes right?".

Well, it's always a good thing to prepare for the future.

Can you guess which celeb's throwback school pic is featured above?

Yes, that's Sharon Au. The former host, who's now in Japan for the holidays, took the opportunity to take a walk down memory lane.

"Tokyo was formative for me indeed. Winter Exchange Program in Sakuragaoka High School sealed my eternal passion for the Japanese language," Sharon mused.

She would later return to Japan in 2005 to further her studies, enrolling in the School of International Liberal Studies at Waseda University in Tokyo.

Hong Huifang celebrated her birthday in Taiwan with some familiar faces

Though the actress, who turned 62 on January 7 was in Taiwan, it definitely still felt like she was still in Singapore. After all, her advanced celebration was with Yvonne Lim, Kate Pang and Andie Chen, who are all based in Taiwan now.

Huifang also shared that the cake she had was a special lemon meringue cake that Yvonne "spent a year" baking and perfecting. Talk about dedication.

The celebrations didn't end there for Yvonne Lim though...

The Taiwan-based celeb's daughter, Alexa, celebrated her sixth birthday on January 6 with a small celebration with family. And yes, that adorable hedgehog strawberry cake was baked by none other than Yvonne. Wow!
