The CNA Green Plan, a Mediacorp campaign that was launched in support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030 by drawing attention to sustainability issues in the country, is underway and the current phase consists of online challenges that aim to inspire Singaporeans to go green in their everyday lives.
Mediacorp personalities from Channel NewsAsia, The Celebrity Agency, and Bloomr.SG have also been participating in the challenges via a three-way social media “showdown”, where they represent various towns and face off against each other under different themes, which are centred around the five pillars of the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
For instance, under the “Energy Reset” theme, we have CNA anchor Glenda Chong (repping Pasir Ris), actor Benjamin Tan (repping Ang Mo Kio), and influencer Wirda Elliesa (repping Jurong West) sharing how they lower their carbon footprint and increase energy efficiency: Glenda suggests saving water and energy by taking five-minute showers without the heater on, Benjamin showed off his plant collection that reduces the heat and the need for air-conditioning, while Wirda reminded us that using the fan instead of the aircon can save you about S$340 a year.
P/S: Click here for more info on the CNA Green Plan Challenge, where 45 winners will walk away with a S$500 EZ-link card each (contest ends February 20). Don’t say we never jio.
