If you follow Mediacorp actor Nick Teo's Instagram, you'd know that the 36-year-old has been looking pretty ripped lately.

As it turns out, Nick, who's married to Mediacorp actress Hong Ling, 31, has been training hard for his role as a fighter in upcoming Mediacorp drama In His Hands, which premieres in September.

In a previous interview with Chinese media Zaobao.sg, the star of new Mediacorp drama Highway To Somewhere also gushed about his wife's admiration over his new body.

"I think she likes it! She didn't use to touch me as much as she does now. She even caresses me and says: 'Who knew I really like muscular men!'" he quipped.

Nick also said that he's gotten Hong Ling's hint and will continue to keep fit for the sake of his wife.

Speaking to 8days.sg, Hong Ling was, however, much more coy about admitting her fondness for her husband's jacked physique.

"I think when you’re married you naturally become your husband’s biggest fan and supporter," she laughs. "But honestly, whether he’s buff or not, I still disturb him the same amount. That part never changed."

But since Nick alluded that Hong Ling "really likes" buff guys, does that apply to the other hunks in the local showbiz scene too? Say, Tyler Ten, Zhai Siming?

"I’m already busy cheering for [my husband's] progress, that’s enough for me," she chuckles.

About hoping for Nick to stay in shape as long as possible, Hong Ling says she actually is more concerned about his health, especially since he has been increasing his protein intake and training a lot harder for the drama.

"As we get older, the body takes longer to recover and his muscles do get strained when he pushes too hard," she tells us.

"Sometimes I do worry if maintaining this kind of shape means eating too much protein or pushing his body too hard in the gym. But he has assured me that this is mainly for the role."

After the drama, Nick plans to cut down on processed foods and heavy training.

"He’s the kind of person who gives 100 per cent to everything he does, especially for his work. As his wife, I’m proud of his dedication, but I also remind him that staying healthy is the most important thing," she says.

Does she feel pressured to keep up with Nick's physique now that he's so toned?

"Not pressured, but definitely inspired," she quips.

"When one person in the house is very disciplined, it kind of motivates the other person too. So I try to stay active and healthy as well."

We can tell that Nick has been really happy with his transformation, and has been taking to his socials to showcase his hard work. But does Hong Ling mind him posting topless photos so often?

"If he worked so hard for it, I think it’s okay to share his progress. I’m proud of his discipline," she says.

"At the end of the day he still comes home to me, so I’m not worried at all."

Hong Ling couldn't resist commenting "daddy" when Nick posted this on IG
They've been keeping fit together too!
