Hassan Sunny Takes Chinese Football Legend For Fancy Teh Tarik Experience At Kampong Glam

Lions goalkeeper Hassan Sunny might have announced his retirement from international football in August, but the 40-year-old is still popular with his Mainland Chinese fans.

Chinese football legend Fan Zhiyi was in Singapore late last month, and in a recent video posted to social media, caught up with Hassan in Kampong Glam.

In true Singapore fashion, Hassan brought Zhiyi for some teh tarik after asking if he ever had the popular local drink before.

And not just any kopitiam, but the fancy TARIK located at Bali Lane.

Zhiyi, also known as General Fan for his prowess on the football field during his heyday, was even given a quick lesson on how to prepare the beverage.

If you ask us, Zhiyi has some skill in tarik-ing the tea.

Of course, the two football stars had the experts make them a fresh pot of tea which Zhiyi describes as “somewhat similar to milk tea in Hong Kong but richer and thicker”.

Maybe Hassan could have also introduced Zhiyi to Milo, which is called 'tak kiu' or 'kicking a ball' in kopitiams. Wouldn't that have been more apt?
