Glenn Yong's Pics From 2016 Trend Show Major Glow-Up: "This Was The Year My Double Eyelid Appeared"

Thanks to a viral 2016 trend, all we see on Instagram these days are throwback photos from ten years ago.

But that one person that made us pause for a moment while scrolling? It has got to be local actor Glenn Yong.

Sharing a series of pictures of himself from a decade ago, the now 29-year-old quipped: "2016 Glenn would never believe what the next 10 years would be like for him".

"2016 Glenn was so damn carefree, I remember going to Europe with my dad for the first time as his assistant, to going for my first mission trip in Philippines and Myanmar to visit and help the children there," he wrote.

Glenn also gushed that he misses "that sense of adventure and simplicity in life".

A quick scroll through the photos soon made us realise that 19-year-old Glenn really looked quite different back then.

Along with a more boyish appearance, the then-Temasek Polytechnic student favoured a natural, no-frills style and came across as much more understated than he does today.

Even the actor agreed that he cared a lot less about his appearance then.

"2016 Glenn didn’t give a s**t about how he looked, what he wore, what people would say or think about him," he laughed.

"But I gotta say, if you put in the effort to workout, eat healthy, do your skincare, get a haircut that suits you, and find your own fashion sense/style, you can transform into the best version of yourself!" he chirped.

He also added that the photos were taken before he got braces and that 2016 was "the year [his] double eyelid appeared" though only on one side of his eye.

Many have since flocked to the comments to rave about his glow up, though some also fawned that the actor already looked "handsome" and "cute" at that time.

A follower even asked for Glenn's skincare routine, noting that he looks "like a whole new person!"

The comments about how different he looked, however, inevitably also raised questions about whether the actor underwent any procedures to achieve this transformation.
