“Family Stays Together”: Chen Xi’s Heartfelt Message To Dad Edmund Chen On 65th Birthday

Former local actor Edmund Chen, who is currently involved in legal proceedings over a careless driving offence, turned 65 today (Feb 4) and son Chen Xi shared a heartfelt message on Instagram to celebrate both his father and grandfather, whose birthdays are a day apart.

Edmund was sentenced to five days’ imprisonment and a five-year driving ban for careless driving that resulted in grievous injuries. He has since filed an appeal.

In his post, Chen Xi wrote that while it has been “quite a period recently”, both his father and grandfather have continued to be the pillars of their family.

Sharing photos of three generations together, he also reminded his father that “family stays together”.

“We show up for one another, always. Like the crest we carry, the sun always rises again — steady and constant, no matter how dark it gets,” he wrote.

Chen Xi shared that the crest serves as a daily reminder of the values they live by, as well as his wishes for his father and grandfather: good health, protection, strength and a steady year ahead.

He ended his message by wishing “the Chen gentlemen” a happy birthday.
