Eleanor Lee Shares Old Pics Of Quan Yifeng In Birthday Tribute; The Latter Replies: "Your Mum Was So Pretty When She Was Young"

Yesterday (Mar 1),  China-based actress Eleanor Lee, 23, posted a really sweet Instagram dedication to mum  Quan Yifeng  to celebrate her 49th birthday. 

In her post, Eleanor shared some pictures from Yifeng's youth, further reinforcing the fact this apple really didn’t fall far from the tree.  

Eleanor started her lengthy caption by exclaiming that her mum has been in the industry for more than three decades. 

"Yes. 32! She came to Singapore at 16, and I went back to China at 16. Such irony, isn’t it? I never thought I’d enter this industry. It’s as if our lives just swapped," she wrote.  

The young actress, who has loved painting and writing music since she was young, went on to confess that she used to find herself "pretty useless" as she thought she couldn't make a living out of her hobbies. Eleanor also acknowledged that she wasn't "the best student in school either." 

"But I have to say I am so lucky that I had so many opportunities to expand my potential and explore this whole big world we call our “industry”. So many things I’ve failed at, learned and succeeded. But I’m proud to say I have worked hard for my mum to live a long life without worries," she added. 

Eleanor also took this opportunity to tease her mum for sometimes being "so cute and girly" ‘cos Feng-jie likes buying “tiny earrings”. 

At the same time, the young actress has something to say to those who've been bombarding her with questions about her mum's career.  

"For all of you guys asking me: “Is your mum retiring?” All I can say is……. it’s not for me to answer. My mum can do whatever she wants whenever she feels like doing it. She gave me the freedom to explore my world back in China, and now she has the freedom to choose too!" she gushed.  

So sweet right? If we were Yifeng we'd be moved to tears by now.  

However,  mum decided to respond to her daughter's moving dedication in her usual quippy manner. 

"Thank you, by the way, your mum was so pretty when she was young," quipped Yifeng in the comments.
